This policy explains how ikko.gr uses cookies and similar technologies. It complements the Privacy policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser so it can remember some information between pages or visits. Your browser’s “local storage” works in a similar way.
2. In short
- We use only cookies that are necessary for the website to work.
- We do not use analytics, advertising or social media cookies, and we do not track you across websites.
- Third-party maps and videos load only with your consent or when you ask for them with a click.
- Fonts and scripts are served from our own server, not from third-party services.
Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent (Article 4(5) of Greek Law 3471/2006, implementing the ePrivacy Directive). The cookie message shown on your first visit asks for your consent only for external content: Google maps and YouTube or Vimeo videos. You can choose “Accept all” or “Necessary only” and change your choice at any time in the Cookie settings (also linked at the bottom of every page). If other cookies that need consent are added in the future, we will ask for it before using them and update this page.
3. Cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| pll_language | Remembers the language you chose (Greek or English). | 1 year | Necessary, first-party |
| gdh_consent | Remembers your choice in the cookie message (whether you accepted external content). | 6 months | Necessary, first-party |
| wordpress_test_cookie, wordpress_logged_in_…, wordpress_sec_…, wp-settings-… | Sign-in and settings of the website’s administrators. Not set for visitors. | Session up to 1 year | Necessary, first-party |
Local storage
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| gdhPublicationView | Remembers whether you prefer the list or the grid on the Research page. Only created if you change the view. | Until you clear it in your browser |
4. Third-party maps and videos
On the Contact page, Google maps load automatically only if you have accepted external content. Otherwise the page connects to Google only when you press “Show map”, which may then set its own cookies and receive your IP address. The same applies to videos: without your consent they load only when you press play, from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) or from Vimeo with “Do Not Track” enabled. The directions and larger-map links open Google Maps in a new tab.
The cookies of these services are governed by their own policies: Google and Vimeo.
The social media links in the footer are plain links: nothing is loaded from those networks until you click one.
5. How to control cookies
You can change your choice for external content in the Cookie settings. You can also view, delete or block cookies in your browser’s settings (usually under “Privacy” or “Privacy and security”). If you block the language cookie, the website still works, but it may not remember the language you chose.
6. Changes and contact
We update this page whenever the website’s cookies change; the date of the last update is shown under the title. For questions, email info@ikko.gr.
