From February 2000, when he was three, Giorgos A. had ear infections for which the ear, nose and throat specialist prescribed antibiotics. These fought the inflammation, but the fluid in the ear persisted, and so there were relapses, at least once a month, until the end of the winter. In the summer, swimming in the sea, Giorgos was not ill at all, but when he went back to nursery the problem returned even more strongly. The doctor recommended antibiotics or surgery to remove the adenoids. So we decided to follow homeopathic treatment – which at the time we knew only by name – under the guidance of Mr Stouraitis at the Hippocratic Centre of Classical Homeopathy.
I must admit that at first our patience was rather tested, since we did not have the supposed certainty of antibiotics. On the other hand, we were taken aback by how quickly – a matter of hours – the ear infection was overcome with a single capsule!
For some months the ear infections continued at longer intervals, but when the appropriate homeopathic medicine was given the inflammation subsided at once.
Finally, at the beginning of January 2001, after a meeting, Mr Stouraitis gave Giorgos a capsule and told us it would solve the problem once and for all. And indeed, since then the child has not had an ear infection again, he has put on weight and in general he is healthier and stronger. He may often have a runny nose, but it does not lead to inflammation, which in the past was the permanent outcome of a virus. His immune system seems to have grown noticeably stronger without the help of any kind of chemical substance.
