My name is Vasiliki Papaioannou. My daughter Artemis Papadopoulou, aged 13, went with other pupils of her school on a 15-day educational trip to Paris, France. All was going well until, on 08/07/2009 (in the second week), she developed a sore throat. Another 16 children on the trip showed the same symptoms. The doctors of the residence where they were staying diagnosed simple pharyngitis. The next day some children developed fever, cough, a runny nose and weakness. Artemis, together with the classmate she shared a room with, developed a cough, a runny nose and weakness.
On 11/7/2009 they returned to Greece. Artemis, together with some of her classmates, had a temperature of 37.4. One of her classmates, however, had a fever of 39.5. His parents were worried and took him to the Children’s Hospital. There he was tested to find out whether he was positive for swine flu (H1N1), and he was found positive. The child’s parents informed the school that he had caught this flu, so that the other parents could act and have their children checked. It was found that all the children, at least those who had shown the same symptoms, had been infected with the swine flu virus. The doctors of the “Agia Sofia” General Children’s Hospital treated the matter very seriously and advised both the parents and the children who had been infected to be particularly careful, not to come into direct contact with each other (nose, mouth, hands) and to keep a safe distance from the sick. They also recommended a 10-day course of TAMIFLU, both for the children who had been infected and for the people (parents, brothers and sisters, etc.) who lived with them and were in contact with them.
For 3 years Artemis has been following HOMEOPATHY; more specifically, she is followed by the homeopath Mr Gerasimos Stouraitis, who on 11/07/2009, although on holiday, listened to me carefully and with the same zeal with which he would have listened to me in his office, was informed by me personally of Artemis’s symptoms, and recommended one capsule for her case, NUX VOMICA 1M. After taking this capsule, from the next day on Artemis had no other symptom apart from a slight cough, which kept diminishing. It should be noted that she took only this capsule and did not follow the treatment recommended at the Children’s Hospital, since she follows HOMEOPATHY.
I THANK both Mr Gerasimos Stouraitis for the speed with which he grasped the situation (from the symptoms alone), even before we had the results from the Children’s Hospital, and gave Artemis the right treatment, and the CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL for the sense of responsibility they show in such cases.
